On June 17 we launched the campaign with an international Press Release, send out by the 7 organisations in their respective countries. Within a day we had already 60 organisations who had signed the petition.
- On December 3rd EDF was crowned with the Pinocchio Climate Award. With 52% of the votes it was no doubt who was the biggest greenwasher. See the results on the campaign website.
- On the 28th and the 29th of November millions of people joined a Climate March near their home. Check out where Don't Nuke the Climate was present.
- From the 12th – 13th of November the Don’t Nuke the Climate campaign was present at the Climate Forum in Istanbul. Read more.
- On November 4th the Pinocchio Climate awards were launched. Organised every year by Friends of the Earth France, in partnership with the CRID and Peuples Solidaires-Action Aid France, this year they also partnered up with Friends of the Earth Europe and Corporate Europe to make the Pinocchio Awards special, with a focus on the COP21. - On November 2nd our partner in the USA, NIRS, launched a crowdfunding platform for the Don't Nuke the Climate campaign. Check it out here.
- On October 27th a coalition of organisations, including Les Amis de la Terre, le Réseau Action Climat, Réseau Sortir du Nucléaire, and Wise, published a report by Wise Paris on the feasibility of the use of nuclear energy to fight against climate change. - On October 21st CAN Europe posted this blog: Renewable energy is the only way forward: wrong solutions for climate protection and why are they dangerous. Please note the: Nuclear power: neither safe nor reliable nor competitive.
- On September 26th 483 people with a social reach of 262,854 people told EDF that nuclear energy is not a climate change solution. Read the full story here.
- On September 2 the Greens in the European Parliament organise a conference “Dismantling the nuclear argument - Why nuclear is no climate-friendly solution!” where we will present our campaign
- In August we welcomed Folkkampanjen mot Kärnkraft-Kärnvapen (FMKK) as our eight partner to the Don't Nuke the Climate campaign.
- On August 22 The Ecologist posted a blog about our campaign on their website.
- On July 22, a month after the launch of the campaign we had exactly 200 NGO's signed the petition.
- On June 22 the German group BI-Luchow-Dannenberg, started distributing a leaflet all over Germany, in which they announce that they will organise buses to Paris for the December 12 demonstration.
- On June 18 we received a big 'thumbs up' from Pope Francis
