Special Parliamentary seminar co-organised by Nuclear Free Local Authorities, Nuclear Consulting Group & Green Cross International. UK Energy Policy - Late Lessons from Chernobyl, Early Warnings from Fukushima.

February 26       Austria

The International Nuclear Risk Assessment Group (INRAG) and the Institute of Safety and Risk Sciences (ISR), University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources (BOKU), Vienna, organize a public workshop on the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl accident and the 5th anniversary of the Fukushima accident.

In Berlin, from 26 to 28 February 2016, the international Congress of IPPNW on the "5 years living with Fukushima - 30 years living with Chernobyl".

March 1          Japan

Press conferene at Foreign Press Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ), Tokyo, with Kenichi Hasegawa and Ruiko Muto, two local leaders of Fukushima disaster victims who are calling on TEPCO and the government for apology, full compensation, accountability, medical care, and measures to reduce radioactive risks. Pre-registration is required. 

March 6          Germany

Demonstration at Neckarwestheim, South Germany, in commemoration of Chernobyl and Fukushima "Nuclear energy is threatening all of us!"

March 7          Austria

Publication and presentation of the updated version of Ian Fairlie’s "The Other Report on Chernobyl" in Vienna - effects of radiation, real figures rather than IAEA. The report will be published by Global 2000.

March 8          Japan

March 11        Brasil and Germany

The International Uranium Film Festival (IUFF) shows films about Fukushima in Rio de Janeiro (Modern Art Museum Cinema) and Berlin (Kulturbrauerei). See their website.

One night for Fukushima: a long artistic evening (from 19h until midnight) on the in Montreuil (near Paris) for the Fukushima commemoration. Check out the program here (French).

March 11- April 26   France

In Haute-Loire, around 20 events will be organised from middle of March until the end of April to commemorate Fukushima and Tchernobyl. A detailed program is on demand.

1000grues will act to help the victims of radioactivity to highlight their testimony: a small delegation will bring the received messages to the WHO (World Health Organization) in Geneva, Switzerland, along with all the collected paper cranes. Read more about this action.

In commemoration of all the victims of nuclear energy one hundred crosses will be planted on the beach in Catalonia. The action is organised by XSE - Tarragona i L'Ebre.

Scientific meetings on the impact of the Chernobyl disaster and how it is addressed in research in social sciences in the east and west, in Paris. This event is organised by CERCEC.

A discussion in the South of Russia, Voronezh city, where two newest reactors are under construction at Novovoronezhskaya nuclear plant. Organised by Ecodefense.

Kids and Wind, a Belgian foundation, builds and install wind machines that belong to children (who are the shareholders). They will carry and install little wind milss near the Ukrainian town Slavotitch. See their website.
