NOVEMBER 2000

INTRODUCTION

(November, 2000) This is the first joint production of WISE and NIRS, affiliated since September 2000. With this publication we hope to provide grassroots activists and NGOs in general with tools and arguments to fight nukes.

Those working against nuclear energy on a daily basis will not find many new arguments, although we think it's a comprehensive source. We cover the main issues, the basics of the nuclear fuel chain, updates on recent findings on economics and safety and pay extra attention to the question whether nuclear energy can be identified as a tool in the fight against climate change due to energy consumption.

We welcome any comments.
